FABRICATOR/WELDER


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES


a) Main Duties and Skills
The job will entail all activities associated with a range of steelwork installations, including:

§ Reading and interpreting installation and setting out drawings
§ Marking off, setting out, checking levels, and lifting templates
§ Fabrication of components (e g steel beams, structural sections, tubular/hollow sections steel) to required quality standards (dimensional tolerances and visual standards), and to schedule deadlines
§ Adjustment and modification of components where necessary
§ Welding of stainless steel connections using TIG/MIG procedures

b) Personal Performance
§ Must represent the best interests of the company at all times
§ Must function effectively as a team player with all company personnel, communicating clearly and factually at all times
§ Must be able to work under minimal supervision, using their initiative to progress the work and solve problems
§ Must be flexible in relation to overtime, shift-work and holiday working.

c) Health and Safety
§ Must follow company and safety rules, regulations and procedures.
§ Must ensure that their behaviour and actions do not put the health and safety of themselves or others at risk.
