Temporary Housekeeper

Conditions

Rate of pay £6.00/hr (sleepover not included)

Hours 2 shifts per day,
1. 11:30 – 19:00
2. 19:00 – 23:00, 07:00 – 11:30
(23:00 to 07:00 is sleepover time)

minimum of 2 full days per week.


Main Duties

Take bookings by phone, email and by calling guests, ensuring all relevant details are recorded accurately.

Book in guests as they arrive ensuring they are advised of relevant policies and take payment in full on arrival.

Ensure guests record their preferences for breakfast and indicate time for same.

Show guests to their rooms as appropriate, providing advice and information as required.

Prepare dining room for breakfast.

Ensure building is secure and check to make sure all fire doors are shut before retiring for the evening.

Prepare breakfasts for guests in the morning between 07:30 and 09:30 accommodating personal preferences where reasonable.

Check out guests as they leave ensuring payment has been received and keys returned.

Assist cleaner with bedroom turnover when required.

Launder towels/bedlinen etc as required on the premises and ensure contracted laundry is collected and returned promptly.

Check food stocks and ensure minimum stock levels are adhered to. If necessary obtain additional supplied from local shops.

Make reservations for guests as required for restaurants, taxis, tourist events etc.

The postholder will be required to adapt to situations as they arise and undertake additional duties in line with the role as required.

The following characteristics are essential:

1. The ability to speak excellent English

2. Capable of handling money

3. Trustworthy

4. Bright and cheery disposition, interested in helping people

5. The ability to deal with difficult people

6. The ability to deal with emergencies as they arise without panicking

7. The person must be a non-smoker



The following characteristics are desirable

Experience of working as a housekeeper or similar

Capacity to be flexible in work patterns when required
