This is a newly created position which will provide a unique opportunity for the right person to be part of the biggest vehicle parts operation in Northern Ireland. With an annual turnover in excess of £9m, we require an individual with previous experience in selling and people management to drive the sales of a major car manufacturer's parts in Northern Ireland.
You will be challenged to achieve volume and profit targets against the background of manufacturer standards, deliver strategic advantage, identify new sales and profit opportunities, as well as delivering robust business and marketing plans. You will additionally be responsible for the management of a busy Parts contact centre and all field sales staff.
Ideally you will have a background in sales and marketing with at least three years experience in a Parts management role, be IT literate with the necessary skills to create spreadsheets and databases and have excellent interpersonal skills. You should additionally have previous experience of making presentations to clients and a proven record in exceeding sales targets
Main Purpose of Job:
• To manage the sales operation of the Parts department in order to ensure volume and profit targets are met whilst meeting manufacturer Dealer Standards.
• To provide and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty and ensure stockholding provides optimum availability of parts to all customers.
• To develop Parts sales staff to be effective in delivering departmental objectives.
• Be involved in setting and reviewing financial, volume and operational objectives.
• Utilise management accounts to monitor sales, profitability and cost control.
• Use marketing and incentive programmes to maximize product promotions to all customer types.
• Use DMS customer analysis to identify product opportunity.
• Ensure customer handling practices are of the highest quality and in line with the companies Customer Satisfaction Standards.
• Management and selling of parts and accessories through the wholesale, retail and workshop outlet, ensuring staff maximize sales and use sound selling techniques.
• Handle complaints effectively resolving them to the satisfaction of the customer and the Company.
• Ensure regular contact with wholesale and fleet customers.
• Maintain a sound and competitive pricing strategy in discussion with the Regional Manager.
• Ensure that all Parts departments are well presented in terms of layout, display, prices etc.
• Define and organise duties and responsibilities within the department for the efficient achievement of objectives.
• Recruit, train and develop staff as necessary.
• Lead and motivate staff to achieve their full potential.
• Carry out regular appraisals of staff performance and handle grievance or disciplinary matters in discussion with the Group Parts Manager.
• Regularly communicate with the Parts team on departmental issues, business developments, customer satisfaction issues etc.
• Contribute fully to the Dealership meetings and keep abreast of developments in the motor trade generally, customer satisfaction issues and government legislation.
• Ensure high standards of administration within the department.
• Complete regular checks on all administrative systems and procedures including work in progress, part margin reports, lost sales and customer sales analysis.
• Maintain the security and good housekeeping of the department.
• Assist and advise staff in all job related problems and statutory issues and adhere to all company policies.
• Ensure safe working practices are employed and the provisions of Health & Safety legislation are complied with.
• Carry out other duties as required from time to time. Be available to relieve at other dealerships within the group for short periods of time when staff shortages occur.
