Company: A general building contractor who has been involved in a number of high-profile developments within Northern Ireland is keen to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding commercial team.  With a number of £15m+ projects underway, the company undertake schemes in a variety of sectors including education, health care, commercial, retail and private residential development.  Established over 40 years, the company has grown to become one of Northern Ireland's most renown construction companies and currently operates with a turnover in excess of £90m.

Role: Presently expanding their commercial team, the company are looking for a Project Quantity Surveyor with experience of managing multiple, large new build commercial, retail or education projects for a main contractor. 

Typical responsibilities will include:

Monitoring subcontractors progress and financial management of same

Re-measurement and agreement of subcontractor & project monthly valuations, variations and final accounts

Preparation of monthly internal management reports & financial statements

Preparation of project cash flow forecasts

Dealing with all correspondence and agreement in relation to all contractual aspects of contracts.

Liaising with project team as part of value engineering process

Working in partnership with Contracts Managers to ensure each project is successfully completed at the earliest possible date, within budget and profitable to the company.

Negotiating with clients to obtain additional work and fit out contracts

Preparing and issuing Construction Phase Health & Safety Files and Client Product/Health & Safety Files (O&M Manuals)



The successful individual will be a dedicated and results-driven professional with a successful background in the achievement of profitable building projects.  An analytical approach and excellent time management skills are imperative to the role.

Skills Summary:



- Degree qualified Quantity Surveyor

- 10 years+ experience of managing medium-large scale projects.

- Good analytical skills.

- Experience of cost planning and Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP)

- Excellent presentation and organisational skills
